Maiden Life & General continues its impressive growth drive into 2019 with news that Maiden General Försäkrings AB (Maiden General) has extended its passporting rights to include the Republic of Ireland and has since established its first programme.

In March 2019 Maiden Life & General became the new provider for Cuna Mutual’s PPI business. Cuna Mutual sells an accident, sickness and unemployment product via its Credit Union distribution channel to customers taking out personal loans.

In addition, at the start of Q2, Maiden Life Försäkrings AB began underwriting an accident, sickness and hospitalisation product as well as a stand-alone personal accident cover on behalf of April Ireland and its broker network.

In order to further stand out from the competition, all Maiden Life and General’s products sold in the Republic of Ireland automatically include accidental death coverage to deliver greater benefit to customers and their families.

Maiden Life & General’s Chairman Max Reid says “Whilst we are a Swedish based insurer that is successfully developing its business in the Nordic region, we have aspirations of growing our business elsewhere in Europe and working with our new clients in the Republic of Ireland is just the start”.

More news on these launches will follow.
